Dish & Dash

Privacy notice

Last updated 4 October 2026

Dish & Dash is run by GKSoft. This notice says what we keep about you when you use the site, why, who it goes to and how to see, change or delete it. Questions go to info@gksoft.co.uk.

What we keep

  • Your account, if you make one: your name, email address, phone number, the addresses you save, and your password — kept only as a one-way hash, which nobody can read back.
  • Your orders: what you ordered, from which restaurant, when, how you paid, the delivery address and any notes you wrote.
  • Table requests: your name, phone, email, the day, the time and how many people.
  • Reviews you leave: the stars, your words and the name you give. A review is shown on the site only once the restaurant approves it.
  • Technical details: your device's internet address, used for a short time to stop someone trying passwords or orders over and over, and in our server logs.

We do not keep your card details: they go straight to the card company (see below).

Why

  • To pass your order or table request to the restaurant and tell you its answer — this is what you ask us to do (the contract between us).
  • To keep your account, so you can see your orders and order again.
  • To keep the site safe and working — our legitimate interest.
  • To keep the records the law asks for — the restaurant's accounts and VAT.

We do not sell your details, show you advertising, or use them for marketing.

Who receives it

  • The restaurant you order from or book with receives your order or request, your name and phone number, and your address for a delivery. It keeps its own record of your orders, and is responsible for that record.
  • The card company, if you pay by card on the site: Stripe or Datman, depending on the restaurant. You type your card details into their secure form, not ours.
  • Our email service sends the emails we send you, such as a code to reset your password.
  • Google, only if you choose to show a restaurant's map, and to work out a delivery distance from the postcode you give (the postcode only).
  • Our hosting provider, which keeps the computers the site runs on.

Cookies and what your browser keeps

The site keeps a few things in your own browser so it works: your basket, whether you are signed in, and your choice of delivery or collection. They stay on your device and are needed for the site to work, so we do not ask first. We use no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics. A restaurant's map comes from Google, which may set its own cookies, so it is shown only when you press “Show the map”.

How long

  • Your account: until you delete it.
  • Orders: the restaurant keeps them for as long as the law asks it to keep its accounts (usually six years).
  • Technical details: minutes for the limits on repeated attempts; server logs only as long as needed to look into a problem.

Your rights

You can see and change your details on your account page, and delete your account there yourself. You can also ask us for a copy of what we keep about you, ask us to correct or erase it, or object to how we use it — write to info@gksoft.co.uk. For the record a restaurant keeps of your orders, ask the restaurant.

If you are unhappy with how we use your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk.
